WILL MY CHILD BE SAFE?
Yes! All of our Ministry Team Members (volunteers) have been through a multi-step onboarding process that includes a background check, Ministry Safe Training for Abuse Prevention and Recognition, and specific children’s ministry training. All classes have a set ratio of Ministry Team Members to children to ensure safe class sizes. Ratios vary by class size, increasing with the age of the children and physical size of the room. We have a detailed Emergency Plan that our Ministry Team Members are trained on that covers all natural disasters and emergency situations.
WHAT SHOULD MY CHILD EXPECT?
Each week there is a lesson based on a true story from the Bible, and all activities are designed to reinforce the lesson at age appropriate levels. We desire for all children to be able to hear the gospel preached each Sunday. In order for this to occur, classrooms need to be free from distracting behaviors, and each child is responsible for contributing to a distraction free environment.
HOW DO I STAY INFORMED?
We have several methods of communication we use for families. You can follow @Cross Kids on Facebook or @crosskids_cccbeaufort on Instagram for daily discipleship activities, upcoming lessons and events, and recaps from the previous week. You will also receive a monthly parent email at the beginning of each month with many details about the month ahead.
WHAT HAPPENS IF MY CHILD’S CLASS IS FULL?
As a congregation, we are blessed with the privilege of ministering to hundreds of Pre-K and elementary aged children on Sunday mornings. While we make every effort to accommodate as many children as possible, we do occasionally hit the maximum allowable capacity for CROSSkids rooms. When this happens, we utilize a waitlist and make every effort to get as many CROSSkids into classes as possible. You can join the waitlist at the CROSSkids desk. Children are more than welcome to attend worship gatherings with their parents, but if your children become restless we have a kid-friendly overflow room available with a live video feed from the sanctuary. We also have children’s worship guides available in the lobby.

CHECK IN
- Parents can check in at any of our 5 Check-In stations on campus upon arrival.
- If you are a First Time Guest you can complete the First Time Guest Registration at the link below or stop by our First Time Guests Tent when you arrive.
- The large name tags are to be worn by the children, while the parent keeps the small tag with the security code.
- Parents take the child to the appropriate room as indicated on the name tag no earlier than 10 minutes prior to the start of service and give any special instructions to the teacher.
CHECK out
- Parents and/or high school siblings may pick up the child at his/her classroom at the end of service.
- Present your small tag with the security code to the teacher and wait for the child to be checked out by the teacher.
- If you have lost your security tag, please see someone at the CROSSkids desk.
CLASSROOMS
CRAWLERS (6 - 12 MONTHS)
Primarily at this age, we provide nurture and care. Infants are welcome in the service, and we have a Nursing Mothers room next door. Audio of the service will be provided in the Nursing Mothers Room.
WALKERS (13 - 24 MONTHS)
Your child will play with friends, hear worship songs, and enjoy a snack.
HOPPERS (25 - 36 MONTHS)
Your child will engage in a Bible story, worship songs, enjoy a snack and play with age appropriate toys.
JUMPERS (3 to 4.5 YEAR OLD) & RUNNERS (4.5 - PRE-K 5 YEAR OLDS)
Your child will enjoy an engaging Bible story and lesson, sing worship songs, play, enjoy a snack and complete age appropriate activities based on the Bible story and monthly memory verse.
ELEMENTARY (KINDERGARTEN - 5TH GRADE)
Your child will be in grade level classrooms where they will engage in age appropriate activities centered around the weekly Bible story and monthly memory verse. All grade levels will come together for a time of worship and the true story from the Bible for a portion of the service.
CURRICULUM
All of our CROSSkids classrooms use God’s Kids Curriculum through RightNow Media. God’s Kids is a Gospel-centered Children’s Ministry Curriculum that combines engaging videos, Bible story, a kid friendly main idea and hands on activities. Every lesson is age appropriate for preschool through elementary ages to ensure every child learns the same biblical truth in a way they can understand and apply.
God’s Kids is built on three pillars:
God’s Story is true and trustworthy
God’s Character is good and reliable
God’s Family is their family in Christ
Though these three pillars, kids will learn that they can trust what God says; know, love and follow Him; and that they aren’t alone in this world.

In addition to our weekly God’s Kids Curriculum, we also offer monthly Family Discipleship Resources for all of our families. Each month there is a different resource available to help parents intentionally disciple their children at home. All monthly resources are free and available in the CROSSkids lobby all month long.
CROSSabilities is a ministry within CROSSkids that serves children with disabilities. The mission of CROSSabilities is to assist those with disabilities so that they have the ability to access the gospel.
At this time, we only have the ability to offer a CROSSabilities Buddy to children who are able to go into his/her assigned CROSSkids classroom. The Buddy will focus on the child and the child’s needs to help him/her as needed. Buddies are equipped with a Buddy Bag full of sensory items, noise-canceling headphones, and visual charts to use at their discretion. Our CROSSabilities Buddies receive additional training pertaining to children with special needs.
To request a CROSSabilities Buddy complete the Family Registration Form. Once a family has submitted the form, a CROSSkids team member will be in touch with additional information.
