WHAT TO EXPECT

“The perfect church service would be one we were almost unaware of.
Our attention would have been on God.” –
C.S. Lewis

The aim of our worship gatherings is for God to be glorified and the church to be edified as the name of Jesus Christ is exalted through prayer, singing, the preaching of the word, and communion.

Liturgy

Our gatherings are shaped by four distinct movements through the gospel message: 1) The holiness of God, 2) The sinfulness of man, 3) The person and work of Christ, and 4) The response of His people.

Prayer

We pray 3-4 corporate prayers led by pastors and elders that are grounded in the truth of God’s word as we lift our voices to Him in praise, thanksgiving, petition, intercession, confession, repentance, and lament.

Singing

Our song selections are structured around the sermon text for the day and we aim to sing songs that are 1) Christ-centered, 2) biblically accurate, 3) theologically sound, and 4) congregationally singable.

Preaching

We generally preach verse-by-verse through whole books of the Bible. Our pastors aim to prepare and deliver text-driven, Christ-Centered, Spirit-empowered expository sermons that exalt the glory of God, edify the gathered church, and evangelize unbelievers through messages that address the head (what we are called to know), the heart (what we are called to believe), and the hands (what we are called to do). Communion

Our congregation participates in the Lord’s Supper every week, because every time we partake of the bread and drink the cup, we remember Jesus (Luke 22:19) and proclaim His death until He returns (1 Corinthians 11:23-26). Baptized members of the body of Christ who are walking and living in faithful obedience to Jesus and His word are welcome to participate in the Lord’s supper at the end of our gatherings.

Next Step Cards

Each week a member of our pastoral staff will briefly welcome the congregation and encourage everyone to take note of the next step cards located in the seat pockets of the sanctuary chairs. Church members, regular attenders, and guests can utilize these cards to communicate prayer requests or to request more information about how to get connected within the life of the church.

Giving

During our gatherings, covenant members of Cross Community Church are encouraged to faithfully support the ministry of the church through financial generosity. If you are our guest, we have no expectation for you to participate in financial giving. Our members and regular attenders give online or by cash or check placed in the giving envelopes found in the seat pockets of the sanctuary chairs. Completed giving envelopes can be placed in one of the two black boxes mounted to the walls on both sides of the hall outside of the sanctuary doors.

LET US KNOW YOU’RE COMING!

We want our first time guests to feel welcomed from their first moment at Cross! To make this happen, please complete the First Time Guest form before you arrive. When you come to Cross, we would love for you to park in our designated first-time guest parking spots and stop by our First Time Guest tent where you’ll be greeted by a Team Member who is ready to assist you in making your visit as smooth as possible.

DO YOU HAVE KIDS?

Great news! We offer CROSSkids for children 6months – 5th Grade every Sunday at all three worship gatherings.

WHAT ELSE HAPPENS DURING THE WEEK?

WHAT IS AVAILABLE FOR CHILDREN?

CROSSkids seeks to provide a Gospel-centered, nurturing environment where your child feels loved, seen and cared for. CROSSkids takes place during our worship gatherings each week for children six months to 5th grade.

WHAT IS AVAILABLE FOR STUDENTS?

CROSSover Students (CO|612)

CO | 612 – for Students in 6th – 12th grades. They meet weekly on Wednesday nights from 6:30 – 8:30pm.

CO | 612 exists to preach the gospel and make disciples of high school and middle school students. When we gather, we strive to do this in 3 distinct ways:

Large Group: 6th-12th grade students gather together for worship, biblical teaching, and games.

Small Groups: Students break into smaller gender/grade specific groups for deeper discussion of Scripture and how to apply it to their lives.

Retreats/Camps: Intentional time free of distraction for the sake of building our relationships with the Lord and with each other.
