MEMBERSHIP
What is covenant membership?
As a congregation, we believe that it is both God’s desire and design that each and every individual follower of Jesus Christ who is part of the global/universal church should be committed and organized into a local body of believers. We believe that faithful, biblical church membership provides the church with the healthiest framework for fellowship, discipleship, relationship and care. While all believers in Jesus Christ are united together as one body, we believe the clear biblical pattern is for each believer in Jesus Christ to fully belong to a single, local congregation. The way that we strive to follow scripture in this is through Covenant Membership.
If you are interested in learning more about Covenant Membership at Cross Community your first step is to attend CROSS 101.
In CROSS 101, you will learn our story, meet the leadership, and discover our mission, vision, and values. This class is required for those wanting to become covenant members at CCC. Email [email protected] to find out more.
Serving at Cross
Because we value Selfless Sacrifice, we will GIVE. Our Covenant Members are encouraged to serve the congregation through the gifts that have been given to us by God. In this way, we fulfill our roles as individual members of one body. There are a variety of Ministry Teams that serve on Sunday mornings and throughout the week. If you are a Covenant Member and want to know more about serving on a Ministry Team, we would love to help you connect to one! Fill out the form below and we will connect with you promptly.
BAPTISM
What is baptism?
Christian baptism is the immersion of a believer in water in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. It is an act of obedience symbolizing the believer’s faith in a crucified, buried, and risen Savior, the believer’s death to sin, the burial of the old life, and the resurrection to walk in newness of life in Christ Jesus. It is a testimony to his faith in the final resurrection of the dead. Being a church ordinance, it is prerequisite to the privileges of church membership.
We regularly offer a baptism class that explains biblical baptism and offers the opportunity to have questions answered and clarified by our pastoral staff. If you would like more information on the class or about baptism use the button below.
